The Worst Crunchy Foods For Your Teeth

An apple a day keeps the doctor away, you've probably heard that before.... but an apple a day is also very good for your dental health as well.
So, you may ask...what about all the other foods that go CRUNCH during the Holiday season? What's bad for my teeth? Let's take a look at some of the worst crunchy foods that you might eat during the day.

Bad Crunch

Snack Foods: Foods like crackers, potato chips and pretzels can be really bad for your teeth. Why? Because when you chew these types of foods, they can get stuck in your teeth. When the carbohydrates they contain convert to sugar, it can damage the enamel on your teeth. Brushing and flossing after eating these snack foods to remove the damaging particles will help.

Hard Candies: An enemy to your teeth! If it's candy you crave, don't go for the hard candies...they are the worst things for your mouth. The longer they are in your mouth, the more time it gives the sugars to wreak havoc on you enamel. The sugar in this type of candy can also stick to your teeth ad cause decay.

Good Choices

Remember, eating healthy during the holidays is important for your overall well being and dental health. Try sticking to foods that are good for you, instead of reaching for that next Christmas goodie. You will have a Merrier Christmas for choosing the right food to crunch on.
